So it's time for a bit of history. Rosebank Cemetery contains a memorial to the dead of Britain's worst ever rail disaster. It took place on 22 May 1915 near Gretna Green. The huge majority of the dead, and injured, came from an army unit drawn from around the Leith area (then an independent burgh, but part of the City of Edinburgh since 1920).
