I think this may be the first post of the year in which the bottom left corner of the first photo didn't have a splash of red in it, but the geraniums have become tired of late and needed cutting back to encourage further growth. Hopefully that colour will be back again before long.
So here's a different splash of red - the single tomato our otherwise rapidly sprouting windowbox managed to produce. We're not sure what dish it will form the centrepiece of yet....
I had a walk around later in the day. Starting point was that new grave from back in February. Although you'd now be hard pressed to notice it had ever been there.
A slight lump in the ground and some bare earth are all there is to show now.
Meanwhile there are always plenty of older headstones around that are worth a look.
This white band across the headstone looked a bit odd
And Mary definitely rests in Peace
I suppose all gravestones mark somebody's sadness, but some are more tragic than others.
But in a cemetery this size there are so many stories lying there
And some elegant stonework if you care to look for it
I still haven't tired of the place. Maybe I'll end up here one day.
